The third one is the only game in the series I'd actually recommend non-fans look at.

No, I meant exactly what I said. Why did you ask for binary opinions if somebody offering one causes you to contradict them?

The 3rd one is better. It's kinda weird for the overworld screen to be at the bottom...

Yeah I agree, the third one was the best out of the three!

Defiantly the third one. It was the first one I played and I loved it! At first I was like "Where's Lan and Megaman?" (I had never heard of the Starforce series lol), and I eventually got used to it and fell in love with it. The battle system is great, and the music and sprites are awesome.

It's hard to decide.

I like SF2 for the Tribe On System, because I like every one Tribe and no one seems to me boring. Some themes are just great (really like Boss Battle, Sky Wave, Bermuda Maze and Post-ending area themes), and the idea for post-ending story is freaking awesome! Link Force Big Bangs are very adorable and epic (especially, Thunder Bolt Blade, G and V Blazer and Elemental Blade for me).

On other hand, SF3 has very awesome story with many unexpected twists, and Noise Change system isn't bad since it gives various boosts to MegaMan and battle cards. Finalize system and ability to pierce through Invis on high levels of Noise seems to me a bit imbalanced, but it makes the battles more action-filled and fast-paced. Illegal Data is the great idea (but I still don't understand, why they put Plesio and Condor and didn't put the Harp Note? T_T). GA system is just cool (I have found by myself Giant Axe and Torrent Wave GA and was surprised when heard about Ox Tackle GA and how easily and early in the game it can be aquired). But I absolutely HATE that awful support system of Custom Screen. It sometimes just pisses me out when I can choose only one or two cards and forced to throw away Dread Lazer or some X Mega-cards because they are a bit overlapped by some low-grade "for-Noise-level-raising-only" garbage.

Still, I like SF2 bit more than SF3.

P.S. Burai (Rogue) was very epic in SF2. He had very awesome pattern, and his barrier wasn't too easy to take out, unlike the SF3, where his pattern is very dumb and his attacks were kinda boring.

I prefer SF3. SF3 has got its footing more on solid ground with nailing a fair battle system for online.

SF2 has a better PvP system. SF 3 has the better story. If I started to explain why SF2 PvP is better we'd be here for a ungodly amount of time. ` 3 `
