These values in RAM control what area you are currently in. (Go into a menu and back out to reload the area.) 02001B84 - Current area 02001B85 - Current subarea |

There should also be a value stored somewhere nearby that the game uses to know which room you jacked in from. |

There's a RAM offset I remember that controlled your current and previous room. |
