It knows Prankster. Which means it pretty much always going first. |

Sableye can have Prankster, and he would be a considerably less cheap team member. His stats are poor, but he could do some stuff with Moonlight or Recover to help with the same strategy, AND Sableye is hard to predict and counter, due to his typing, and the variety of moves he could learn. I personally prefer Spiritomb, but I'm not a fan of Pressure in PvPs, kinda useless. |

Sableyes actually good as a phazer, and they're so much harder to kill then it feels like (because of the recover protect, and leftovers.) |

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_base_stats Thats the base EV list for every pokemon. Anything with 600 or more = BANNED. The only exceptions MIGHT be Regigigas and Slaking due to Slow Start. Anything with 500 and above is eligible for a ban too. Wynaut and Wobuffet stay banned. Any moves pokemon gain through events that they can't normally gain (such as Yellow Forest Pikachus) are banned from those pokemon. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE DREAM WORLD. For the sake of speeding this up >_> Further more, look at one Kyurem please. It's the third member of the trio the title legendaries are in. NOTICE HOW IT HAS 660 EV AND WASN'T ON SMOGONS BAN LIST WHICH WE WOULD HAVE USED. Now do you know why I said no to earlier ban lists? It would have let that powerhouse into the tourney! Then this is pretty much a gen 4 tourny, with some new bad looking pokemon, most of them don't even offer anything to the Metagame without their dreamworlds. |

Furthermore, the only pokemon banned by a 600+ EV ban are some legendaries along with Slaking, Dragonite, Metagross, Salamence, Garchomp, Hydriegon, Tyranitar, Dragonite and thats it. In a nutshell, the usual suspects. Because if the ex-ubers aren't banned then they are probably just going to be shoved on most teams. Edited by Doom, Mar 24 2011, 03:08 PM.

You should leave Slaking unbanned just for the Lolz. It can't really do much anyway. |

Let Torch decide the ban lists, since he started it. Let's stop wasting time going back and forth. We experienced battlers are supposed to be good enough to win with anything anyways (on a realistic level, of course) so it shouldn't matter. This is a good creativity exercise as well.

You guys are making this more complicated than it should lol. Smogon's list would've worked just fine. |

Smogon's list or anything else would 've been just fine with me. I'm fine with anything, and I'm sure Glaceon and the other experienced battlers are as well. I just want to battle. I'm experienced with Competitive enough where rules don't matter to me in the long run. I know enough to build a decent team with any Pokemon. However, Torch wants to keeps things more fair for everyone (understandably, I can see where he's coming from) so it's his call, since he started the tournament. I was just giving him suggestions based on what I know from the current metagame, but ultimately, they're his rules.

I see you missed the fact that the legendary that will be the one to be on the cover of the third game and has 660 EVs made it through Smogon's ban list, which only added the title legendaries for Black and White to the list. It was unacceptable in my eyes. Basically, my current list, as well as our little friend Haxorus. Also, no Drizzle/Swift Swim combos and no Shadow Tag. I give you 1 day to say another other pokemon/moves/abilites that should be banned and why. After that the list is done and we move on. |

Haxorus shouldn't be banned. Garchomp outclasses him in EVERYTHING but Dragon Dance and Physical Attack (by a small margin). Prankster ability should be banned. So....goddam....cheap. I agree with mid though, it should just be Smorgon's list, and Shadow Tag. Edited by Dramz, Mar 24 2011, 06:04 PM.

As much as I would love to join, I just got the game recently and I probably won't have the time to beat the game, properly gather my team, EV train them, and get their respective items. I also can't join because I just rencently got into pokemon again and there's just too much to learn in such little time (I barely understood anything in this thread. :l). |

This isn't being done in a game, its being done in the Pokemon Online battle simulator. Took me 10 mins to get the first draft of my team done. |

I don't know now, it might feel weird to me. I still don't know what EV Training fully means, and I hear that's like uber important. |

http://www.serebii.net/games/evs.shtml Obviously the methods of EV training are irrelevant in PO since you just set them yourself in the Team Builder, but the concept of EVs themselves is there. Essentially, the EV spread you choose among the six stats dictates what sort of role that Pokemon will have in battle. You must take advantage of each one's strengths while doing this. Well I'm downloading it as we post, hopefully I will change my mind, I dunno. It still feels weird and not knowing a lot will probably stop me from joining, who knows. |

There's a lot to learn. With all of the statistical and technical stuff aside, the hardest part may be the complex world of competitive battling strategies. That alone is a big task to master. You have to fight a lot of battles to get a good feel of it. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't participate because it's too much to learn in a short amount of time.
