How's it going, everyone?

We plan to release quite a bit of new art soon, as well as discuss a lot of what's coming in the next couple weeks. As you can see, the homepage is down. We're renovating it to make it a lot better and feature-packed than it was before.

The project itself is going rather well; Khelder is pretty far along in the programming. Any slowness in the progression is only due to spriting and music issues; however, they should be resolved soon.

The demo is going to go all the way up to the first boss scenario of the game, if not more. We're trying to re-use as little material as possible from previous games, so bear with us.

Do you realize what section this is?
Also, the URL is accessible but there's nothing there. I know it was already renewed.

That URL is temporarily down but will work again when renovation is complete. It's the main URL so we will never change it permanently. No need to change anything yet. I'll come back with more updates regarding the site as renovations continue.

The one and only Shuffle.
Just wondering, how long do you think it will take until guys release the first demo. I've been dying to see how far you've progressed, and I'd like to play a new Megaman game soon!

@Shuffle: I can't give dates right now. In the past, whenever we've set a release date, we overpressure ourselves and we always flame out and not make it. I'd rather keep it discreet until I know for sure what's going to happen. All I can say is sometime within Q1 2011.

A wise choice sir. I've seen one too many a project suffer the very fate you mentioned. I greatly look forward to your game.

Interestingly, we've come close to toppling over and suffering that fate several times in the period that we've been working on this, which is a quite a long time (1.5 years). We're lucky that we're still alive; you can thank the core of the team's will to stay afloat for that. Just as we would come close to releasing something, something bad would happen. That's why I mentioned not putting any release dates until I know for sure what's going to happen. Whenever we've put release dates in the past, drama occurred, whether it be personnel going inactive at the last second, etc. Now, we've finally learned from our mistakes, and using more organization, only keeping the loyal and hardworking team members, and looking "two or three moves ahead", I've eliminated nearly every possible bad outcome to the point where the only thing stopping us is whether or not we're up to the challenge of releasing something great; our own work ethic. That considered, we're finally making significant headway and are finally on the right path to something. Finally.

I was not sure where to to post this, so please move this comment if necessary.

I was wondering if The Project Legacy Team is working with the Chrono X Team in any way, shape or form? If there were online functions for both games it would be cool to connect and battle people with other version IMO. (If they are even compatible, ex. BN3 W & B)

We're friends and contemporaries, but other than that, no. They aren't versions, they're separate games.

If this idea were to be entertained, then this is the reality of it: there is no compatibility problem because they are made in Game Maker, so the limits are the extent of the programmers' time and patience, but the online battle function would require the fusing of all of Legacy's chips, form changes and abilities with all of Chrono X's into one engine, which would take time. It's a fun idea, but it's nowhere near being the priority. I doubt either of our projects will have the time to do this in the near future; maybe later. We're both working to progress on the main game itself.

Thread Locked, new update soon.
