That reminds of a story my Psychology Teacher told once. That most common people in 24 states of America don't know that Portugal is a country, but a city of Spain. NOW THAT'S IGNORANCE! |

I think this ignorance is more prevalent in rural areas of the US such as Utah and Idaho. They have very little exposure to foreign people and influences, and thus are ignorant about foreign countries. |

That geographic illustration must be the most epic I've ever seen. Yay. [/sarcasm] No offense to American people, but they must be the most ignorant country ever... Also, who did they also made the "Don't judge the book by its cover." thing? Just asking. |

I'm a Filipino born and living in America, and I must say I agree with this to some extent. A lot of people around here are so one-track-minded that if they see anything out of the typical American as far as people or objects, they stereotype to no end. For example, just because I'm of Asian decent and am good at basketball, they call me Yao Ming. ![]() I'm neither Chinese nor THAT tall (Yao is 7'6, I'm 5'10) and my playing style isn't anything like his either. Gotta realize that not everyone around here is like this, though. There are a lot of good people here as well. Edited by Saberman, Dec 25 2010, 03:52 AM.

We also should ask ourselves how are we calling another countries. For example Poles sometimes (but not usually) are calling Germans as "Szwaby" and their country as "Szwabia". This is taken from one of the lands of Germany - Schwaben). Of course I don't need to mention that Poles are using this words in pejorative manner. In fact I have no idea how historically it gets that meaning and pejorative form. |

I'm pretty sure this only counts towards people from the show "Jersey Shore" and people in Los Angeles. Those people there must be the most ignorant type of folks according to KassemG (youtube). Unfortunately, that is half out population right there... I feel ashamed to be an American. TT-TT |
