I recently started a new playthrough on megaman battle network blue 3 and while I'm still only at the start I've decided that this time I want to do all the extra stuff. Problem is I'm not the best at S ranking all the bosses, a lot of people make it look easy, for me it's probably because I don't make very good chip folders and rely on wood style/grassland sanctuary/barrier or aura type chips bubbleman/aqua+40 or other newbie type strategies. I'm able to beat them with something like barrier style or custom style, but the problem is I think you need Team style to get the V4 type chips so I would need a good chip type folder,I am able to S rank navi's like Flashman/Gutsman etc. with low hp if I get something like master style. but that's pretty much it, bosses with more hp are the problem, especially once that don't stay still! so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what's good/bad and if there is a chip tier list on the forum? Everyone has their opinion on what chips are good and the best way to beat bosses. Personally, I don't think I got all of the V4 chips fighting all of the bosses. Once you get far enough in the game, you find a bugfrag trader that you can trade 10 bugfrags at a time to get any chip below Giga chips in the game. I got all but 3 V4 chips doing this. Of course, I spent hours fighting Gutsman at the WWW base and countered him everytime. That's the easiest way to get bugfrags fast. If you're doing this method, take your time in battle to learn how to counter them and then do it. |

Much as I hated it, I needed to get Teamstyle twice on my last playthrough (I sacrificed BugStyle to get Mistman V4 ;( ) Realistically, some of those combos you see in vids are near impossible to obtain without cheats. For a Team Style, I recommend using a P coded folder. Plantman 1, 2 and 3, (and 4 when you get it) You can also get EvilCut PA, (Stepsword, Herosword, Stepcross). If you are playing Blue, FolderBak. Make sure to have FastGauge default, or the FastGauge NcP active for the S-Rankings, considering you need to do it in 20 seconds for V4 chips. |

The best set up in my opinion would elecbuzz (is that it?) and icestage, it's always rapage. Always. Always. |

elecbuzz? I'm not sure what that is, but I know that plazma/sensor are good elec hitters, so I guess I'll combine that with ice stage thanks! I'll probably make an elec based folder with ice stage as the default chip and a sword based folder with fast gauge as the default chip and also has plantman/teamstyle in it. |

Start with the elemental navis Since you can do Flashman, I suggest you S rank him to get V4 Then go after Bubbleman since you got V4 Flashman, it should much easier I suggest an F coded folder for bubbleman Flasman and HyperRatton PA will serve you well Then after Bubbleman go after Flamman. Also, a freindly combo for you If you select VarSword and hold down A Then Press B,B, Left, Down, Up You will do an attack that hits 640 damage (800 on elemental navis) That should be all you need for S Ranking |

Try S ranking Protoman first (my opinion) and have a type of folder that has *coded than have to activate fast gauge first and just hope to get the master style PA on the next few turns and finish him off to get his v3,v4 chip :). Another way is to use the bug frag trader located in secret area 3 (i think) and hope to get some mega chips. If you use the bug frag trader tip keep fighting Gutsman V3 with a * coded folder and get Master style PA ready. Wait till he is about to use guts punch and after a second quickly use the master style PA on him to get a bonus of 10 bug frags remember to learn how to counter to use this trick for getting 10 bugfrags every battle good luck!

fighting protoman is fun, mainly because I don't have to fight a million viruses before running into what I actually wanna fight. I'll take on the elementals first, then the ones that I can fight whenever I feel like it, gutsman, protoman etc. then I'll take on the really annoying ones, drillman, Beastman ( I hate how fast he moves!) etc. I've been able to counter gutsman quite a few times when Megaman had guts style. |

If you reach up to Beastman jack in to lan's dog house to find him ( just in case you don't know). Like what I did in my MMBN 3 use the Plasma and Plantman folder. Here's the folder: plasma3 P X3 Plantmanv1,v2,v3,v4 icestage(make sure you have floteshoes on or in water style :D) Zapring1 P x3 (use zapring first to paralyze him than you Plasma and than use plantman if the plan works keep firing buster at him while plantman and plasma do the job) Single Bombs * X3(I think they are useful when you trap beastman with the plantman's chip than use the single bombs but I'm not really sure if they helps havn't been playing MMBN 3 for a long time) Fill up your folder with Plasma v3,v2 and v1 Giga Chips: Folderback or Navirecycle Notes for you: I think you can get single bomb * at the zoo comp with custom style try S ranking them :D. Good Luck again Edited by Fusion, Oct 31 2010, 11:54 AM.

All right thanks! and yes I did know the location of Beastman, but it's not a very well known spot, or a spot that would typically be thought of so thanks anyway I haven't even beat the main game yet, I've been busy and playing other games/ megaman BN 6 Falazar I might work on S ranking and beating everything in 6 first since I've actually completed the main game in that one. |

your Welcome! electric style is also a great style for beastman :). Get your charge to max with the navi customizer with max attack and a Float/air shoe for a fast deletion. Just keep zaping him if you have electric style take out zap ring since you already have a zapring for your charge shot and put in a area grab maybe to trap him so he will get direct hit from the plasma you've summoned Good luck Off Topic: I can't type any longer so I have to tell you the rest later my sister is telling me to get off of the computer ;C |

yeah I've NEVER received elec style in BN3 *cries* but it was the first style I received in BN2, it made freezeman really easy since I was running an elec based folder at the time. BN2 is the only megaman game where I have been able to S rank every Navi, and without too much trouble I used a Gater based Folder. I also became very good at S ranking Protoman without using any chips. Maybe I'll get elec style this time round, chances are I'll get aqua style though like usual. Area grabs are pretty broken chips, I usually have 2-3 when I play megaman, but I usually take them out before the final boss battle in most of the games for obvious reasons. |

Yeah you can get team style but different elements the elements are random but it's worth a shot. It might take a while you know where to jack in at Yai's phone? Jack in and edit your folder. Get a Flashman v1 chip in and press select on it for a pre-chip. Since yai's Phone comp is filled with aqua viruses just keep using the flashman v1 chip you pre-chiped for an instant ko for the viruses and also doing that for an estimation of 100 battles you will get team style (because of all the flashmanv1 spamming which are mega chips and team style is based on mega chips :D.) and a chance of getting electric style since you been using a electric mega chip every battle for a 100 battle (this advice is made by me and is needed to be credit before showing to others :D.) that's a advice on having more of a chance on getting electric team style good luck on that too! :). offtopic: I understand how you feel of how annoying beastman is D: . |

yeah I hate how the really fast navi's that like to jump onto your panels, Protomans pretty annoying to but I usually like fighting him, and he's easily defeated if you have anti sword and thank's I'll keep that trick in mind for getting team style. I'm almost to bubbleman ( first time) in my playthrough, but I've mostly been playing BN6, which is weird because it was my least favorite out of all the BN but I've felt like playing it recently, so far I've S ranked Tenguman and Dustman, working on spoutman but I have only about 3-4 thunder chips so that's not going to work too well. |

by first time I actually meant first form, I've beaten bubbleman before, I'm not sure if I was too clear what I meant in that post, I think I beat him the first time with that folder you got from the yoka square actually, the one with the Lance battle chip in it. I'm not sure exactly how to put stuff onto youtube, I recorded an avi file on VBA before and tried uploading it, but the uploading failed did i do something wrong or can you just not upload avi's? If I can upload megaman video's onto youtube I am thinking of doing a no hpmemory run through where I only have 100 hp for the whole time, I'm not sure if there's any hp memory that you HAVE to get when you play I think there might have been one when you do the four job's for tora but I can't remember. |

Oh I see Offtopic: For the youtube posting go to the Guide that is named MMBN6 Hacking Guide by Mega_Rock_EXE. Near by the end of the guide has a mini tutorial of how to upload an avi I don't have a youtube account so I have no knowledge on uploading videos yet D:.

Drillman is easy once you know where he's coming out of from the holes. Easy way to beat Drillman. Compliments of Timaeus Kingman is just annoying because of his minions. A Ranged folder is best for him. |

I remember there being a hit noise whenever I shot at any of the holes? maybe I'm just remembering things wrong, still drillman is annoying, I hate navi's that are so defensive thank you for the advice! |
