Alrighty, thats what I was thinking, Do you know what value controls how they effect the chip when charged? (like Elec causing stun to normal and slash tossing swords) |

Um, beastover will boost normal element chip attack times two, its not a actual value. |

I've found some more data for the Crosses, mainly the Buster settings (normal and charge shot). The list starts at 08020354, wtih Normal MegaMan. Every cross has a 6-byte long segment. All addresses are the same for both (English) versions. Spoiler: click to toggle Charge speed notes I've also found the routine that deals with enabling chip charging. This large routine only checks whether the current chip CAN be charged. Again, the Crosses have their chip charge element hardcoded into the ROM. The routine starts at 08013236 for both games. Again, there is a limited number of "slots" you can use. However with chip charge effects working differently for various crosses, every slot's routine is a tad different.
I'll see if I can make an ASM for this and element chip powerups, so that EVERY cross can have one. Edited by Prof. 9, Apr 22 2016, 04:11 PM.

Hmm very interesting. I'm gonna take a guess that the finds before were not the location crosses load their chargeshots at but the location the attack's were pre loaded into. Thank you for all these finds Prof.9 EDIT: How come the chip charge effect section is always FF when looking at the moemory veiwer? Edited by Zanerus, Jul 18 2010, 05:20 AM.

Not all Crosses have a chip charge effect. If you're seeing FFh for EVERY cross you're doing something wrong. Get the cross address and add 5h for its chip charge effect. |

Only Elec, Tengu and the Beasts showed to have one. I couldn't get slash to show his at all. |

Interesting. So some crosses are missing their chip charge value. It's possible they have their charged chip effect hardcoded in the ROM. What happens if you change it anyway? EDIT: It's also possible their charge effect is influenced by the Cross's Abilities. When the chip charge effect is set to FFh, it uses the chip normally. Edited by Prof. 9, Jul 18 2010, 05:44 AM.

I found something interesting, 08014E26 this affect Beastout's sprite use (not beastover) If you change 29 to 2F, it become Eraseman, if change to 4A, it become Dustman. So I think this is a way to change the sprite without replacing the original sprite. But it need some more improvement. |

Another note is when I set the chip charge element for Ground man to Null he could charge but the rocks that fall did not drop. As for changing it anyway, I'm not sure, I didn't notice any changes but I wasn't sure which value to change it to. It might be your second gguess cause slash is set to FF yet he works. Off topic, how do I change a cross's weakness? |

I checked that list but it made no sense to me ^^ Afterall it doesn't state which cross is loaded where. I went back and tested changing Ground man's chip effect range but I still got nothing, however he was still set to charging at a normal chip. I'm going to reset my folder for wood chips and try Thawk next. the Leftb works however. EDIT2: I tried Thawk like I said and he couldn't charge a chip when I changed it to an ability while, when he was back to FF he could charge wood chips to do double damage. Of course it has to do that, brianuuu(did I spell it correctly?)! Why would it replace the sprite and go through that when that beastout is already in the sprite list? I think there's some ASM involved when you beastout and you have a cross already. <- That's how it chooses a cross, at least I think. |

If you could change the beast over sprite without removing the beast out sprite then it means you could separate beast out and beast over sprite. |

Wait, if that's how you say it, then beastover makes no sense. Beastover may just be a palette then! If so, then why won't your method not affect the beastover thing if it is just a palette? Because I'm sure that there isn't a separate sprite that is the beastover. There is ASM involved for sure now. |

Check it out on the Sprite List Viewer. There isn't a separate sprite for beastover. So beastover has to be a palette.
