I don't know if someone had put this before, but you know, finally I can make a tutorial and help, it's my pleasure! This thread shows you how to get the color value of GBA easily!!! First, all you need is a GBA color picker . 1.Open GBA color picker. It should be like this: ![]() 2. Choose a color you want to put in the game. It doesn't matter the palette you want is in the game or not. I'll choose a green color for this tutorial. 3. Put the value of that color into the box in the right hand side. ( Outlined with red lines ) ![]() The value of my green color is : R:0 G:128 B:0 So put the values like this: ![]() 4. Done! The gba color value and code of the palette I just inputed is generated! ![]() ![]() 5. Well, the color code of the GBA color picker is wrong in order. That means, if you want to use the green color I inputed in the game, you need to transform "0200" into "0020". That means put the last two numbers at the beginning of the code. Now, with the color codes, you can use it in APE or GM's simple palette view. And the gba values is to check if the palette exist in the game. Well, I like editing palette of the game! So this program is very useful, it'll surely speed up your work on editing color in the game. Hope it can help you guys! =D |

I dont get it, my programs automaticly obtains a color from the screen by hacing the color input textbox selected and pushing space. that seems easier then having to open a seperate program. |

this has its main use in manual palette hacking. despite the fact that your palette editor can do this, if you have your program open, whats the point of hacking the palette manually. |

APE cannot locate sprite dumps without doing a general search. my method finds the palette data, and allows you to edit a new palette for each animation, or even every single frame if you want. |

this would make a nice little spoiler section in my sprite hacking guide. with the writers permission of course, I'll throw it in. RoCK if you check this thread, say whether or not you give me permission to put it in. |
