Following the Blademan.exe sprite, I converted another Robot Master to Bn style. This time I chose Crystal man from Megaman 5. I'll admit it didn't turn out how I expected it though.

There are two because one is outlined, and one isn't please tell me which one is better.
I also updated my previous Blademan sprite.

The style isn't "MMBN" enough. You can fix that by removing the "pillow shading" and adding more appropriate shading similar to the shading used on the artwork.

It's the direction of the shading. You can't try to shade it from your direct perspective. Imaging the shading as if the sprite were facing the front. If you take a look at BN palettes, you should see how the palette is chosen. Usually there are 3-4 colors for the main body color and 2-3 colors for secondaries. Of course, most classic Megaman characters are very simplistic in their design and are usually little people in plastic costumes. If you're going for a BN version, come up with an original design with more features and details.

I suggest you observe the shapes and shading of other sprites to see how they are achieved. Again, the artwork is a good example of where shading should be and how it should look.

Is shading from the top right? Because that's what I've been using. I'll think I'll start doing the colors thing you said, it's just I can't find the right amount of appropriate colors.

What do you have against cyan? I know it's not the most appealing color, but why?
