Alright this is the Z-Saber hacking guide, in this guide, you will learn how to make your Z-Saber more powerful and better.
Here is a demo video of the Z-Saber hacking.

Looks cool, isn't it?

The Guide
Lets go to the Z-Saber offset.
Posted Image

First, the blue box. The Blue box is the sound effect of each attack, I won't list the sound effect here, you can find them in GM's Text Editor.

Second, the red box. The Red Box is the speed of each attack, the smaller value, the faster speed.

Third, the green box. The Green Box is the control of the Left+B attack.
02 = Import Left+B to add one more attack
04 = Cancel

Edit the sprites and range of the attacks
Roll down a bit first.

First, the red box. The Red Box is the offset that goes to the range and the attacks, which is the purple box. You can also call it a starting offset.

Second, the blue box. The Blue Box is the starting offset of the sprites of the attacks which is in the green box. The sprites of the attacks will be better viewing in 8-bt because 32-bit switched the order.

Lets try to edit the sprites first, view in 8-bit, and you should see 65 55 67 00, you can use the value I found or find by yourself, I will only find the sword sprites.
16 = Wide Sword
17 = Long Sword
18 = Sword
19 = Wide Blade
1A = Long Blade
1B = Life Sword
1C = Dark Sword
25 = Hero Sword
2D = Muramasa
33 = Tomakawkman Axe
35 = > Shape, Colonel's attack
36 = \ Shape, Colonel's attack
37 = / Shape, Colonel's attack
38 = Z Shape, Colonel's attack
5F = Cross Slash
62 = 4 sq attack, Colonel's attack

Next is the range of the attacks, view in 32-bit, you should see 0705FF02 0705FF04 0705FF06, the last bit 02, 04 and 06 are the range of each attack.
Here are the list,
01 = Sword
02 = Long Sword
04 = Wide Sword
06 = Hero Sword
07 = 4 sq in front, Colonel's attack
08 = 5 sq in front, Colonel's attack
09 = Wide + Long Sword
0B = Cross Slash
0C = > Shape, Colonel's attack
0D = < Shape
11 = Life Sword
12 = / Shape, Colonel's attack
13 = \ Shape, Colonel's attack
22 = Z Shape, Colonel's attack

EXTRA: Add more attack and add the range of the attacks
We will make a SwordFighter chip like in my video. (Please credit if you copy my attack.)
First look at this.
Posted Image
The Grey Box is the number of attack, they should edit together, otherwise, the attack you add will become SoincWave. Lets change them to 05 to have 5 attacks.

Lets look back to this image.
Posted Image

You should know the Red Box is the starting offset of the range and the Blue Box is the starting offset of sprites use of the attacks.
If you want to add attack, you have to use a blank place of the ROM.
Lets add sprites of the attack first. (Make sure you have change 03 to 05.)
Change Blue Box 080F13A4 to 08800000. (If you are using a clean ROM.)
Check the sprites list,
18 = Sword
16 = Wide Sword
17 = Long Sword
37 = / Shape, Colonel's attack
1B = Life Sword
to make the same attack of SwordFighter.
After you put in the value you should see this. (Of course view in 8-bit.)
Posted Image
Then you are finished with the sprites of the attacks.

Next is the range of the attack.
Change the Red Box 080F138C to 08800008. (You must check in this offset, they are all 00 values)
Watch the purple box,
0705FF02 0705FF04 0705FF06 0000FFE0 0101001E 0000001E
0705FF02 0705FF04 0705FF06 are the range of the first three attack, copy them to the offset you wrote. (In this case, to 08800008.)
Now you can only control three attacks' range, to add attack range, it's simple, add 0705FFXX after them.
So now you got 0705FF02 0705FF04 0705FF06 0705FFXX 0705FFXX.
Remember how to edit the range? Look at the list.
01 = Sword
04 = Wide Sword
02 = Long Sword
12 = / Shape, Colonel's attack
11 = Life Sword
Put them in the right place and then you got 0705FF01 0705FF04 0705FF02 0705FF12 0705FF11.
Not finish yet, you have to add something after the range of the attacks.
Add 0000FFE0 0101001E 0000001E to end the range control.

Good !!! You can now use SwordFighter chip in SF3, try it out !!!

If you have any question, feel free to ask.

Got to try this one, and one doubt I have, why haven't you been promoted to Apprentice Hacker, yet?

Again, your explanations are confusing. Why are you putting a box on single bytes when you have the 32-bit view in VBA? It makes locating the EXACT offset of that byte much more difficult than it should be. The data you are analyzing should be on the top left not in the middle of nowhere. Please reorganize your instruction.

All values (sounds, sprites) should be the same but that probably won't take you far.

Yeah, I'm sure you've used some of the findings of other people, but you don't give out your secrets, except for maybe the profanity filter...
@Darkcross of course, to prevent a misunderstanding

I thought the reasons were very clear. it's because i don't like people copying what i do because that is all they want to do here, of course now that I'm done with this all I'll do next is post my findings i just haven't organized my stuff to post them.

pile driver is interesting and such, but Im more interested in how attack sequences point to sprites...Dakr couldn't have sorted the DarkBarrier sprite, or the PileDriver sprites without some sort of knowledge related to that...
oh the things we could do if we could just change the sprites...

You seriously make me laugh. :trap:

Dark actually made the hack, back in his previous patch version, that is that Brianuuu actually went through Dark's hacked rom and Brianuuu edited it, however Dark was actually the first one to make Swordfighter, not Brianuuu. Brianuuu just added extra attacks, but Dark was the actual founder of the Swordfighter chip. :trap:
