BN4 is sure an interesting game to hack. Finally cheats and hacks work together. By picking any Navi, you can customize them with certain moves. Check out the guide, which is not complete. Hacking MMBN4 This guide will explain how to hack your own battles in MMBN4. This game has a poor operating system, so the game may crash often depending on what you do. It may just be the most exciting game to hack because of the cheats below. Here are the addresses: 080FC910= Virus Mod (for ElecTownTower1) RS 080FC920= Virus Mod (for ElecTownTower1) BM 080FC840= Battle Mod (for that battle) RS 080FC860= Battle Mod (for that battle; further right) BM First find the battle. It consists of two Mettaurs and a Melody. get beefed up to match the difficulty. Unfortunately, you can't go back, so you will never fight a V1 or V2. virus list is the same as 4.5s, so I won't mention those here. The Navi list has changed though. Maybe you have to do something else. Also note that using Soul Navis, the game and Navix will act strangly. Use one at a time. Aside from the fact that you can replace yourself with any Navi, you can give them a moveset too! By using these cheats, you can push Select to make Megaman do that move. If you use these with any Navi from the above list, you may get some interesting results. This is only to push select. You can make it any other button and make it looks like you're actually playing as that Navi with the proper moveset! It may prevent them from moving, but it's worth experimenting with. Just note that these freeze often and work at different frames. But first, the Joker Codes. This lets you put whatever button you want to make that effect work. (EXAMPLE) D0000020 00XX 8203B188 YY04 Change X to whatever button: A= 01 B= 02 Select= 04 Start= 08 L= 200 R= 100 Up = 40 Down = 80 Left = 20 Right = 10 Now just copy the first the value and replace it for YY to get that effect. The value you change is 00 which is next from value FF. Change this to any of the following: 20= Green Lines 99= Reduce virus level E0= Reduce virus level w/Green Lines There is obviously more, as I have gotten into a link battle before. More will be found as soon as more testing is done. Changing the Battle number To change the battle number, change the second 00 value past the value FF. Of course, it is in hex, so 11 is 0B. Changing the Music This is similar to 4.5 hacking. The value you need to change is 14 and it is on the row below. 080FC850 Change it to any of the following: Music List 00= Title Screen 01= Mysterious Shademan Theme 02= ACDC Theme 03= Indoors Theme 04= ElecTopia Theme 05= DenDome Theme 06= Castillo Theme 07= Netopia Theme 08= NAXA Theme 09= Tournament Selection 0A= Dracky Castle 0B= Crisis 0C= Sad Theme 0D= Hero Theme 0E= Transmission 0F= ElecTownTower Theme 10= ToyRobo Comp 11= Space Comp 12= Network Theme 13= Undernet Theme 14= Virus Battle 15= Boss Battle 16= Final Battle 17= Tournament Theme 18= Results 19= Loser 1A= Game Over 1B= Enemy Encounter 1C= Credits 1D= Navi Customizer 1E= Reuslts (short version) 1F= Tournament Winner 20= Dracky Comp 21= Virus Battle 2 (slightly modified) 22= No Music Changing the Background It always has and always will be value FF. It stands out like a sore thumb. Change this to any of the values below to get that BG. 00= ElecTownTower BG 01= ToyRobo BG 02= Lan's PC BG 03= Regular PC BG 04= ACDC Area BG 05= Town Aea BG 06= Castillo BG 07= YumLand BG 08= Undernet BG 09= Dark Regular PC BG 0A= Space BG 0B= Mayl BG 0C= Dex BG 0D= Yai BG 0E= Hotel BG 0F= Soldier BG 10= Town HP BG 11= Black Earth BG 12= Dracky BG 13= Netopia Area BG 14= Netfrica Area BG 15= Sharo Area BG 16= Satelite BG 17= Duo BG 18= Green Tournament BG 19= Blue Tournament BG 1A= Gold Tournament BG The ones with an asterisk are the ones that work with Normal Navi. Just an example of what this can do. These will probably work with other Navis as well. |

Yes, you can have allies in bn4. As you know there are four sets of values for each character, example: 84 02 02 08. The first value (84) stands for who they are, in this case gutsman. The next two values (02 02) represent where they are on the field. The last set of values (08) are for what the character is, rock, virus, enemy navi, ect. This would not normally be 08, but if you change the last set of values to 08 like I did, than gutsman here would be your ally. As cool as that may sound though, the thing with bn4 is its engine is so weak that most changes that you make to battles will freeze the game often. I find that having laserman as an ally seems to work the best without the game freezing on you. Plus he's a pretty strong ally to have. |

Thanks. I thought I tried it, but I guess I did not, or I just did not seem to encounter the modded battle. Do you know the address for the music/battle mods? Edited by AlphaOmega, Feb 6 2010, 08:20 PM.

Yeh I'm pretty much trying to study programming. But I really must give the credit to Nemo and MegaRock for posting and reposting the hacking guides. From those I was able to figure out a few things in BN4. Currently I'm going to try and find a navi control code for BN4. There must be one since you can play as other navis in the game. Also I'm wondering if its possible to try and stregthen or replace its weak engine with a stronger one for less freezing with allies. So yeh lots goings on, stay tuned. |

For a cool glitch, set the anti-damage ability to a joker code value such as the select button. And then either with a chip, or the navi customizer program deploy any kind of shield and before the shield dissapears, hit the anti-damage joker button and the shield will stay in effect and you will repel all non-shield piercing attacks and won't be affected by any wind type. Its like being bullet proof. |

Since Exe 4 was my fav of all the Exe games I'd like to mod away at it after having finsihed red sun seeeveral times and blue moon 4 times. However I don't get anything you guys wrote ( my name is hackingnewbie I guess). Is this modding guide meant to be a collection of codes to form battles as ones like ? If so: Could someone please post one example and post what he replaced (colored would be good) so I can understand this. Thanks for the guide and thanks in advance for any help. |

Sorry for not replying. You can learn how to battle hack first with BN6 and using the steps from there, you'll understand what's going on over here. |

Follow this. You ARE in the same section as it. These are memory viewer modding, you go in the game's coding and modify it. |

Ah ! Awesome Thanks That helps alotBTW: After battles have been modified, can these hacks be turned into easier to use Codebreaker/Action Replay Codes / VBA Codes ? Would be great to have easy access to them. Also, this is probably a stupid idea, but what happens if you battle a modded battle, then use lock enemy, save, turn it off/on again ? Does the modded enemy appear ? I guess no ? Edited by SearchmanXZ, Dec 11 2011, 02:19 PM.

I'd like to replace megaman with roll sprites, I'm figuring I can use dumps for roll that work on bbn6, just curious as to megamans sprite locations on bbn4, and it'd be easier to just replace the address to rolls than to add in the sprite. Can you point me in the right direction? |
