Hacking EXE 4.5 Guide This game stores its battle much differently than BN 5 & 6, so before you start, forget almost anything that you have learned about that and get ready for 4.5 hacking. Let's start by changing the viruses. The battle that will be changed will be a battle in Internet 1. (how convenient!) Look for the battle with 3 Mettaurs. This battle is relatively rare and looks like this: [_][_][_]|[ ][M][_] [_][R][_]|[M][ ][_] [_][_][_]|[ ][M][_] Beat this battle (or run away) and use LocEnemy. (It's the second one from the bottom) Now that you have that done, put the following address into the memory viewer. 080C8E60 = Mod Viruses It will take you to a line that looks like this: 01 01 06 02 01 FF 00 02 02 00 01 04 02 01 01 05 Only about half of this will change the viruses, the rest continues on the line below. Now, in this game, the value FF is used as the divider, so never change it. Remember to put it back when after you are done adding more enemies (which will be explained later) Team of Rockman The 00 after FF is the team of Rockman. This value isn't as universal as the previous team modifier. Change it to a 01 and Rockman will become your enemy (but he won't do anything and you lose instantly) Any other value flips him upside down and all sorts of crazy stuff, so that's really all you can do. This won't need much changing. Location This game also stores location differently. Instead of 22 standing for the middle of the left side, it is divided into two 8-bit values. Just use a simple x and y grid method thing. I'm sure all of you have learned in school about x and y. Let's say you start on value 00 which is always the upper left corner. The first value is x meaning that's how many spaces you will move right. The second value is y meaning how many spaces you'll move down. So say you want to stand on middle bottom panel. You would put 02 03. Simple as that! Who is Rockman? This next value basically changes who Rockman is. You get crazy stuff with this, most of which end up killing you. Virus/Navi Modding Virus Modding is very different in this game. All viruses AND Navis are mixed into all the values. (from 00-FF) Tournament and are fighting Level 2 Viruses, you might as well forget about fighting Level 1 Viruses again. The game uses a trigger that if you beat the tournament, all of the virus values automatically go up by one. So finishing that one tournament means you will NEVER EVER FIGHT A LEVEL 1 VIRUS EVER AGAIN! EVEN A V1 NAVI!!!!!!!!!! So that basically throws off the first two versions of a virus. Meaning there will be 2 copies of their Level 3 EX form. This can get complicated, so think hard. Anyways, here is the list! Virus List 00= CopyRockman (just a 4000HP clone of him. The game crashes often when you have too many, so beware. Also, by adding another target it will not appear in the name selection, so therefore, you can't really hit them. To add more enemies, just follow the simple format of: xx xx xx xx VIRUS LOCATION KIND Always remember to add FF at the end of the list. You cannot exceed the maximum of 4 enemies on the field. If there are too many, the game will crash and Navis will act strangely. Probably the most surprising thing on this list is the second pair of Normal and Heel Navis. If you replace yourself with any of these two, your tactics window will change to Rockman's, but you'll have their mugshot instead! When you win the battle, you get the message, "Normal Navi Win" or, "Heel Navi Win". These two were never playable in the game, so this is quite an interesting find. Switching Teams To do this, change the value after the location of that virus to 08. It is normally at 01. This virus type mod can actually yeild many interesting things. You must put any of these values when adding another enemy. Kind List 00= Replaces virus with Rockman 01= Normal Virus 02= Nothing 03= Rock 04= Nothing 05= MetalGear 06= Nothing 07= Nothing 08= Makes them on your side 09= Crashes Battle Type Modding Changing the battle types is harder in this game. Most values crash the game, so very few things can be changed. If you find more, please tell me. Here is the address for the modding the battle: 080C7CC0 = Mod Battle Changing the panels Here is what you can change, in order. It starts at 00 which is right after 20. This value changes the battlefield. You can fight in various panel setups. Of course, there are far too many to mention. Just note that values past D0 make glitched panels. The next value doesn't seem to do anything, so just leave it as it is. Changing the Music Right next to it is a 62. This is the value for the regular battle music. However, the game stores music much differently. There are random empty gaps in the music values down the list. There are even some sounds here. Anyways, the music is listed here: Music List 00= No Music 0E= Plug-In 18= Results Screen 19= Loser 1A= Game Over 1B= Enemy Encounter 1E= Winner (short version) 1F= Tournament Winner 28= Theme of Windman 29= Theme of Gutsman 2A= Theme of Fireman 2B= Theme of Elecman 2C= Theme of Metalman 2D= Theme of Woodman 2E= Theme of Iceman 2F= Theme of Shadowman 30= Theme of Starman 31= Theme of Napalmman 32= Theme of Knightman 33= Theme of Plantman 34= Theme of Junkman 35= Theme of Bass 36= Theme of Protoman 37= Title Screen 38= Navi Select 39= Metalman Mini-Game 3A= Mini-Game Explanation 3B= Windman Mini-Game 3C= Match Advancement 3D= Napalmman Mini-Game 3E= Iceman Mini-Game 3F= Official Tournament Winner 40= Internet Theme 41= Undernet Theme 42= Chaos Area Theme 43= Credits 44= Intro Sound 59= Tournament Battle 5A= Theme of Rockman 5B= Theme of Aquaman 5C= Theme of Searchman 5D= Theme of Roll 5E= Theme of Numberman 5F= Theme of Thunderman 60= Math Drill 61= Searchman Mini-Game 62= Virus Battle 63= Boss Battle 64= Push Start Most of the values after that are just various sounds. Enemy Number Modifier This one isn't much. Change 00 to 01 and you will have one selection as an enemy and the target will shuffle. This isn't very useful. Changing the Background Just like in the previous games, the FF is the current background. Change it to any of the below variables. Because this game was made from BN4, most of the BGs are from that game, even if you don't normally encounter it in this game. Here is the full list: Backgrounds 00= Pulse BG 01= Carnival BG 02= Lan's PC 03= Regular PC 04= ACDC Area BG 05= Town Area BG 06= Park Area BG 07= Netopia BG 08= Undernet BG 09= Dark Regular PC BG 0A= Space BG 0B= Mayl BG 0C= Dex BG 0D= Yai BG 0E= Hotel BG 0F= Soldier BG 10= Town HP BG 11= Black Earth BG 12= Dracky BG 13= Netopia Area BG 14= Netfrica Area BG 15= Sharo Area BG 16= Satelite BG 17= Duo BG 18= Green Tournament BG 19= Blue Tournament BG 1A= Gold Tournament BG 1B= Internet1-3 BG 1C= Internet4-7 BG 1D= Internet7-9 BG 1E= Undernet BG 1F= Undernet BG 20= Green Regular BG 21= Blue Regular BG 22= Yellow Regular BG That's about it for the backgrounds. The nightime version of the 4.5 background can be seen in the nighttime. Changing the Battle Type I don't know much about this section yet, but all I know is this. The value you change is 00 which is next from value FF. Change this to any of the following: 20= Green Lines 99= Reduce virus level E0= Reduce virus level w/Green Lines There is obviously more, as I have gotten into a link battle before. More will be found as soon as more testing is done. Changing the Battle number To change the battle number, change the second 00 value past the value FF. Of course, it is in hex, so 11 is 0B. |

the offset is off by a lot. Can anyone fix it to 080C8E54? the next battle in 080C8E60 is not the right one, but instead, the one before it. |

Since those games are not based on the BN5-6 engine, an entirely new method must be discovered. |

modded a "Bass Cross" in to mmbn 4.5 and 4. It looks kind of weird, though. |
