If you haven't seen the news already the Los Angeles area is being terrorized by wildfires. At first it was only some celebrity homes that got damaged, but now it's gotten devastating. This personally affects me because down here in Anaheim a thick cloud of smoke is covering the sun casting down red shades. Yahoo! has a news article on it. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081115/ap_on_re_us/wildfires I have some pictures. A view from my backyard. Kind of gray now. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g144/mega_rock_exe/IMGP0404.jpg Outside my window. See that contrast between gray and bright blue. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g144/mega_rock_exe/IMGP0403.jpg Neighboring houses. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g144/mega_rock_exe/IMGP0402.jpg This is all out of control. On Wednesday we're having an earthquake drill and then this happens. At least these fires will never reach here. |

At least you are safe of that fire. Are wildfires common at there? |

Oh yeah, I've heard about this. Hm, that's interesting, the sky in your area is affected. |

It turns out it got really close. By the middle of the day, this is what I saw. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g144/mega_rock_exe/IMGP0410.jpg http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g144/mega_rock_exe/IMGP0408.jpg http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g144/mega_rock_exe/IMGP0407.jpg Everything looked golden outside. The camera didn't seem to capture that, but it was real. 2:00pm and it's really really dark. My school, Anaheim High School is being used to house evacuees for the moment. I wonder how it will affect school? Fires have been common around here this year. And what's worse is that if it rains (it might not) there will be mudslides to worry about. Good thing is that it's safe where I am. |
