It doesn't have to be purple. I can make some really cool black shades.
I've never actually added these colors into the game though, but it should be possible.

Is it okay if I add this to the main guide? It's an easier way to get the palettes. My method.

In VBA, find where the palette is. Either BG or Object. For example, mugshots are in Object. Save the one that it is in. On the save prompt, save it as a .ACT file. You don't even have to keep this file for very long.

In APE, click open the ROM you will edit. Select the option, "Load by Searching", and the "Import" option becomes available. Click it an a file selection prompt comes up. Set the file type to .ACT files and select the file you saved earlier. Load it, and all the palettes should come up.

You can find all the palettes you saved by switching index. If you still have VBA open, you can use the palettes you see there as reference. When you find the palette you're looking for, click the big "Search" button and hope it comes up. If it does, it worked! If it doesn't it is an uneditable palette, cannot be changed. Maybe, checking the box that says "LZ77 Palette" may help you find map palettes.

Mine came out to be 004F74E8, Groundman's mugshot. If a mugshot, or any other sprite has color changes (easily known via sprite hacking), clicking the arrow next to the offset should get you to its next color. The color values should be red if a palette is incorrect, and therefore should not be changed.

I hope this helps, because manually copying down colors was a real pain.

Can I apply MREXE's patch to my ROM after I've edited the pallettes and not have them revert back to normal?

Yes, if MREXE didn't hack them in his. Patches only apply the changes, nothing else. If they didn't, it' would be a ROM.
I run a Mass Effect 3 modding site named ME3Tweaks.com that details how to mod ME3 as well as showcasing mods for the multiplayer aspect of the game. I also developed a mod manager utility as well as an online mod creation tool named ModMaker.

I think your palettes would stay assuming the patch filters changes and merely applies them to a ROM rather than just copying the entire ROM data onto a file.

My version should have bookmarks. I don't know if they can be saved, but I also included a picture in there to make people know I uploaded it.

Good job! Don't worry if your still learning, if you partice hard enough, you will become a whizz at it! :D

@ mega rock.exe: You can just upload the bookmark files and share it with people, you don't need to hand out the whole program.
