Pick any MMBN game, including BCC and 4.5, and hack it. Make a recording, and upload it on youtube. Post a link here, and you will be included in this contest. We know that alot of members here have hacked some pretty useless things(...Mgamerz...), but who hacked the most impressive? Now, we will see who can hack the most impressive battle and/or overworld occurances known. Rules & Restrictions: 1. Vid MUST be uploaded via youtube. No upload requiring the viewer to download it. 2. No using patches. The only exception to the rule is the translation patch for MMBN4.5. 3. No malicious links. 4. Vids can include more than one battle, but battles must be shown for atleast 15 seconds each, allowing the viewer to actually comprehend what's happening. 5. When the contest has ended, it would be appreciated if all contestants would list the various hacks/cheats that directly affected what they did(that means all chips code need not be listed) Due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not have a very impressive vid. It will simply be a mere experiment I've been thinking of including multiple AI's, Megaman, and a donkey(wtf?). Okay, maybe not a donkey, but definitely Protoman. |

Do you know how your going to to it(LOL, no one knows how, so you don't LOL). BTW, that isn't my final video. I'm still working on it. It has to be a battle, right? I think it's cheap to use the overworld. |

Patches can be used to modify sprites, or completely change text. Both of which require outside programs. This isnt raw hacking, but rather assisted hacking. |

Yeah, I agree with buster, because if a patch is applied, you can just use other's pre-formatted hacks (Like using a savestate that has a bunch of codes on it already) to make your battle look good. SDEXE, I put like 8 hours into that vid, I even wrote notes on how to do it. I had mine well planned out. Just think some crazy idea that sounds cool, and do. Then, slap on an assload of sidehacks. |

<_< Look real, then why not text hack it... By the way, if to make it look real-er, can I text hack chip desciptions of the hacked chips I have, and fix the ones I can? (Batcannons and IceCube, Mainly) |

Kinda late. You said make them look real, so I just put the correct text on (Z Saver had this: Add an Effect: Blind-I changed it to 3 Cut Z-Slash Attk!) And I fixed Icecube, but I most likely won't be showing the desciptions, so it won't matter. I also hacked some lines, but they won't show during battle. |

I'll remove my Z-Saber Chip (Cmon, it's just 2 letters from Z Saver (LOL, THATS THE WORST TRANSLATION EVER)). I'm still pondering putting chip hacking in, it's super hard to figure out. |

Is it legal to team up with someone? Just asking in case I discover something cool because I'm much too lazy/have never gotten VBA's record AVI thing to work to make a video.

Sure. What do you mean though? For Record AVI, its not hard. What are you having trouble with. |

He knows how, just it's VBA that's kinda screwy. BTW, you have 3 days to finish, and I don't think chip hacking should be legal either for this contest, as it's new, and everything would be counted as cool. I think I'll stick with my video. I'm the head of Chip Hacking right now, and I'll be making a guide and making BN 6.1, so I'll have a lot to do. I'm not sure I should patch just yet... I think I'll get a new ROM of USA Falzer(Buster I'm sure can help patch Greiga for me), because if you're going to use it online, you probably don't want my corrupted Comm's menu. I won't load a save state, as I think that's what makes it do that. So I don't really know if I can check to see if the basic patch works. I'll try to release it later today, if I can. |

The AVI's always turn out really screwed up, it's probably because I don't have a graphics card... And why shouldn't chip hacking be legal? All it is is changing the damage and text of a chip, which isn't that impressive if you ask me. On the other hand if someone managed to change the whole effect of a chip (example: make AreaGrab grab a horizontal row instead) that would be a lot more impressive (hint? ;)). |
